After doing some urban flexing i decided to do some fixerups and do a writeup on my efforts for those who are interested....
first - the flexing....
i posted more pics in the picture thread...
upon checking the slack in my rear handbrake cables i noticed that the rear spring mounts are rubbing through the handbrake cable sheath. my jeep has only 5000k's on it so im suprised at how much it has worn through already.
i decided to wrap some rubber hose around them to prolong the sheath.
also i used the same hose on the d-shackles on my ARB bar - they fit perfectly in the hole - stopping rattles and rust!
i then wrapped smaller hose from supercheap around my rear brake lines where they were rubbing on the rear swaybar mounts..
then used the same hose on the front right shock tower where an electrical conduit was rubbing on the shock tower.
then used the hose to wrap around the back of the shock tower over my hard brakelines. the hard lines were pulled down slightly when i changed the mounting for the brakeline clip.
also incase anyone is changing front upper controll arms on a rubicon - be carefull of the difflock connector on the top. mine was smashed off when removing the original arms. it only took a little knock with a spanner and it snapped. had to get another one.....it didnt clip in properly hence the duct tape.
you can see how close it is here. the connector just pulls straight out with a firm pull once removing the 10mm bolt.
i also sikaflexed around the connector as the seal on it when you have a good look is pretty shit, i think water could get in there...
and thats my saturday all done...
