Default 2 - 2.5" suspension lift VIBES

Hi all

Does anyone suffer vibes with a 2-2.5" suspension lift. I would like to know if it will be problematic with a KJ.

NB: I have owned an XJ for 10 years and know all about vibes with albeit with a 4.5" lift.

Thanks

Hi Dave

The only negative vibes will be from the wife because the Jeep is 2.5" higher.

Enjoy

I must admit that I have a vibration problem in certain situations. I have a 70mm (2.75") lift in front and 75mm (3") in the back (plus Polyair bags in the rear springs). I'm running CRDSTUs special King springs for CRDs. My vibration problem seems to occur at certain rev ranges (particularly around 2000rpm which is maximum torque point) under power. Nothing apparent at normal cruise in light load mode. Last weekend I was headed up into the Blue Mountains towing my camper and when I turned off overdrive on a steep section I had a rather bad case of the vibes and had to back off slightly. This is causing me to consider taking out my present lift and going down to 50mm via a standard OME lift, or alternatively buying a set of JBA shaved CVs for the front end and a SYE for the rear. The CRDs are a particular problem (when considering a SYE) because of the flywheel torque damper that hangs off the transfer case - so I will need some advice on that. Cheapest fix seems to be to go down to 50mm all around and sell off the higher lift (slight demod in other words). If I was doing it now I would not go above 50mm, and that is what I asked STU for (but got 70 &75 instead, and did not really feel concerned about it until the last few months).
