Default Test driving a JK this arvo

I want to have a good look at the 4 door model cos that's what we are interested in, but the dealer can only get a 2 door one. At least it's diesel and a manual so I will get a bit of an idea.

I have a feeling I'm going to walk away and prepare to be somewhat poorer...but that's a good thing right!?!

When I drove the diesel I was a little disappointed as the engine was so tight being new. Having driven one with a few k's on it I was very impressed.

Just something to be aware of, othewise you'll love it!!

do yourself a favour and wait for the 4 door to become available. don't know why he can't get one. try another dealer or go to sydney for a week end and get one. the amount of extra room in the 4 door is a real heap more. if you wanted a four door, you sure won't be happy with a 2 door. it's like buying a holden ute when you really wanted a 10 tonne truck. don't be over eager. wait for the four door you really want. you'll be much happier.

My son knew what he wanted a 4 door JK CRD manual, Jeep Metallic Green, with the Renegade pack; he's in central Qld. Qld dealers said no can do, how about a petrol? No, I rang my Sydney dealer and he found a perfect match JK Unlimited CRD coming in on the next boat and had it put on hold for his dealership. I went and inspected it at the Sydney dealer (Peter Warren), and we arranged a transport to take it up to MacKay where my son picked it up. It can be done. Of course he had to pay for the transportation but he got the JK CRD that he wanted, not somehting that the dealer had on hand.

Hey all

I wont be buying the 2 door. I have made that clear to the dealer. There is a 4 door arriving at the end of the month. The dealer is also trying to get one of their accommodating customers with a 4 door locally to bring it in for me to have a good look over.

I want my wife to get a bit of a look at it and see if she thinks she's going to be comfortable enough in the seating etc. If we find the front end of the 2 door roomy enough then the 4 door should be what we want.

Be careful you dont fall in love with the 2dr first though. I test drove 4drs and then took a 2dr petrol and then a diesel for a spin...im in love with the 2dr auto crd.

Now just the waiting game to get one.

Mate seriously if the Cairns dealer can't get you a 4 door there is something wrong. Take the drive to Townsville and talk to Adrian. The four hour drive is worth it to get what you want.
