If your interested in economy buy a diesel, they are easy to drive for economy and in city traffic can almost be coasted around on using partial thottle thanks to their excellent torque figures. My KJ CRD gets over 530km a tank on my regular city/suburbs cycle and over 750km a tank on the highway. The petrol KJ and JK will get terrible mileage in the city compared to the diesel and long term (assuming you do alot of kilometres per year) the diesel will save you thousands $. Yes, the diesel will cost more initially, and that is why I am sugesting that you need to plan to drive it alot or keep it a very long time to payback the investment differences. You can buy second hand diesels and these maybe better investment decisions - but then again people don't buy Jeeps as investment decisions.
