Default Wrangler and/or Unlimited 4 door ACTUAL fuel consumption?

Hi guys,

thought this is probably the best place to ask.
The kiddies are almost out of their baby seats and I am hankering to get myself back into a Wrangler or Unlimited.
My question is to those of you that have either of these cars is: How realistic are the fuel consumption averages pasted onto the windscreen? We will be driving a minimum of 120km EVERY day, so this is important, and will likely be the deciding factor in which model we purchase.
Can you also let me know whether you have the Diesel or petrol model?
For those of you that have the diesel, are you happy with your decision?

Thanks In advance to everyone who responds.

Cheers

Hi we have a 07 crd unlimited auto and have never got the fuel economy claimed we constantly average 12.5 but live in a country area and don't do city driving towing our 14 ' off road pop top we just averaged 16.5 but it was very windy and steep (bucan to jindabynefor those that know the road and then on to sydney and back via mostly country roads) the best we have done is 9.5 on a trip to bright not towing we are very happy with the crd and bought it to tow with as the 2 V6's I test drove seemed to underpowered for the work I wanted it for .

turbo diesel JK 2dr here been averaging around 10L/100km. Can't complain. Its not even a month old.

I went the diesel because I really doubted anyone would realistically get anything near what the sticker says with the petrol. Sure you might get them with gentle unladen cruising but bring on a load, incline or headwind and there goes your range.

mine sites on about 9.8 on the dash, but from the scangauge i believe its about 3% out, i think its more around 10L

i normally fill up at about after about 720kms and put in around just over 70L so that would be the 10L/100

thats in a manual unlimited
