Default Wetlands and Foreshores (Beaches) Sustainable 4wd Practices - get involved!

As mentioned a while back. P7 succesfully tendered for a federally funded NRM project to conduct community consultation and engagement as follows...

1. Develop and distribute a code of practice for recreational access to tidal wetlands.

2. Develop and deliver a training program for commercial and recreational users of sandy foreshores, based upon best management practice principles developed through community consultation.

This project is all about getting 4wders, to spread the word about sustainable 4wding...

Forumites in SEQ/Wide Bay are invited to become involved directly, but i would encourage anyone interested in the 4wd community standing up and being seen to be doing good for the environment for the benefit of future generations to followour progress and development.

The fact that this tender was won by a 4wder, and not a uni, or conservation group should indicate that the Burnett Mary Regional Group is serious about seeing real outcomes, behaviour change, and community engagement.

Is there really noone from the SEQ/wide bay that wants to be involved in this??

How often do 4wders actually get a chance to be a part of writing these documents rather than just being shafted by a govt dept.

This project really is about us as responsible users, spreading the word within our circles to ensure that we can maintain access to our favourite coastal areas.

If you do not wish to attend a meeting, that's fine, but if you have any interest at alll, please fill in the form on the webpage above so that you can stay involved.

cheers

hey chop,

will davo be charging a nominal fee for telling people -
1/ not to tear up the grass on the sand dunes,
2/ fish for the future, or
3/ don't shit or shower in the sand,

sorry for being sarcastic -
but -
when a privately owned company tenders for a federaly funded project, usually the only thing that benifits is the company involved..

but i have been wrong on many occasions..

not quite sure how you figure that.

Would you have preferred an enviro group, or university to have won the tender, or a 4wder??

The level of sarcasm and mistrust is understandable, but this is different, and you can either come to a meeting, or take my word for it
