Default Where to buy a 350 chev engine and tranny?

Im looking at putting a new engine and tranny into my CJ8 when it arrives and was wondering where is the best place to find a 350 chev engine and turbo 350 tranny in Vic.

Also, does anyone know where would be the best place to get it all installed and enginered?

Hey Maz, why not do a 360?
About the same price to rebuild and keeps it all Jeep.
I know where there's a few of them and some 727 trans and 208 transfers too.

Saves you the issue of then finding the correct T350 extension housing/output to hook up the transfer too.

try eagle autospares , if you plan on driving it regularly and want it to run nice and cruise well on the highway consider getting a newer motor ie ls1/ls2 and a 4l60e oe 4l80e that way you have efi so it runs well and a overdrive trans so it doesnt rev its ring off on the highway

Ebay = LS1 and trans as a combo from a comodore. Convert the trans to take your DANA 300.
I would not go for a 360 again.

thanks guys, will chase up a few of those leads, although I dont know what response I will get over xmas.

the reason I was going a chev was because I was reading on novak website last night that they say chev engines are the best swaps for jeeps due to ease of parts and installation. They say an AMC is no easier to install than a chev.

I was thinking of keeping it simple with the older style chevs with a carby. Although what would be the difference in terms of instal and cost with a newer ls1/auto from a late model commodore? I thought EFI would mean a lot more work.
