Default immobiliser/hazard lights

g'day to all members. ive just bought my first jeep; 2001 xj classic.
its a great 4x4 but has a couple of minor problems that i reckon some one out there might be able to help with?
1.the immobiliser is really pissing me off the way that the hazard lights continuously flash while the ignition is off and it doesnt matter if the keys are in or out? it appears to be the stock jeep remote and the central locking works fine. also is there any way i can disable the audible "beeping" when the key is in the ignition and i open the drivers door?
thanks for listening

Ok so it looked like no one had any suggestions for this annoying "feature" of the jeep security system. Basically what was happening was i would pull up in front of a shop or whatever and while im sitting in the car with the key off or backwards into acc position the hazard lights would constantly flash, randomly, consistantly and it didnt matter what i did, it wouldnt stop! You can imagine people walking past or sitting in shops looking at me like "what the #$%@ is this dickhead doing with his hazard lights?" or "yeah mate good one tossa, your hazard lights are working fine f@#$knuckle".
So after 2 months of imaginary abuse i finally figured it out! Above the sunvisors are tiny motion sensors that pick up movement inside the car. Cover them up with your finger and amazingly the hazards dont even get a look in!
YES.....

You don't think that you might be spending a bit tooo much time sitting in the car??? Actually you write a most entertaining post - there should be more of it - and if I had had any idea how to help I would have responded.

Cheers ... Mark

As for the beeping noise when the key is in and the door opens, have a look under your drivers seat and see if any wires are attached, mine was already disconected when I bought it and I wondered what it did?
It didn't last 5 seconds before I unplugged it again!!!
