Default Custom rocker arms for an F Head - Can it be done?

You'll probably all think I'm crazy, but does anyone know if you can get custom, heavy duty rocker arms made up for an engine? I've heard of people putting L Head cams in an F Head, but it snaps rocker arms. So I figure just make 'em tougher!

Or, alternatively, is it feasible to look for a high ratio rocker assembly?

NB: The word "feasible" is used relative to the actual value of the F Head, which is probably 90% sentimental.

Are they hard to make? I'm studying engineering at the moment and have limited access to a machine shop. And what should they be made out of?

That sounds like a pretty funny story to tell future apprentices! =D
Would you just fab them by CNC? Ugh, means I have to draw drafts... Yuck!
