Default Brake issues

Has anyone had any issues with brake wear? I've just had to have my rear pads replaced and the damn thing only has 29,000k's on the clock..

Plus, there are no after market rear pads available yet so at $170 a pop it ain't cheap, especially if they have to be replaced every 29k's

you either have a lead foot which is activating the abs on takeoff, or you're doing a great deal of offroad work wth lots of wheel spin activating the brakelock diff function. other wise the front would normaly wear out first.

My rears were just changed at 52kms, I havent done the fronts yet and I tow daily and wheel. The Esp relys on the rears alot so turn the thing off especially offroad.

As ashamed as i am to say, the Jk is yet to see an off-road trip so there is no way that can contribute to it....

I definatley am not a "lead foot" and being the diesel version wheel spin on take off would be almost impossible.

I use it for a work vehicle and tow daily but the load isn't exceptionally heavy, 500kg MAX

I know that the ESP relys on the rear alot and as most will know whilst towing you do apply the brake earlier than without a load. Maybe turning ESP off may help, who knows.

I had mine changed at 40000kms, my old service dealer even tried to tell me that the disks need changing too. After some searching I found out that the rear pads are physically smaller than the fronts, hence rears getting changed forst is normal, but the rear disks are fine and only a pad change needed.

Turning off ESP probably won't do much at all.
It cuts back in once you exceed 60km/h and even when you turn it off it only turns of the stability program the traction control is always on.

Even when ESP is in "Full Off" mode it only delays the traction control but doesn't turn it off completely.
