Nice clarkey, how thiick did you lay it up. Those Artic bumpers are laid up about 6mm thick and by all accounts are pretty strong. no reason you can't haev this pretty strong

Thanks Fester.

We used 3 layers of glass and then reinforced the all the fixing points with another layer. It's probably about 4 or 5mm I guess.

I'd just prefer the metal because it would be less likely to split from a hard knock.

http://www.rocky-road.com/wk2-front-skid-plate.html

Found this on another forum. Wish someone would make something like this pre-runner skid plate here so we don't have to miss out because of ridiculous shipping costs from the US.

Here's a pic too...

Does look good clarky but again do we get screwed without our second recovery mount. Wonder if there is somewhere to mount it for us, does it use the recovery mounts. Seems most of that WK2 stuff from Rocky Road is based on the recovery points.

Hey all.

I inquired with Stu Murchison whether he had any plans to make something similar to the RRO pre runner skid plate and this was his reply...

'We're about to start bring these in. Don’t ask as to how much though as we haven’t landed them before. If you like we can get an order in the system for you with a $100 deposit and invoice.'

If you're interested you might want to give him a call.

Clarkey.
