Default Anderson plug for trailer power

Hi All

Has anyone installed an anderson plug connection (50amp) for trailer power supply on their 2011-2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee? Just looking into it now. If anyone has tips, photos of their install that would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Geoff

I cheated and got the pros to do it...

The cables run from the battery terminals through the trim - the installer removed virtually all the interior trim! - to the tow hitch receiver and the plug is on the passenger side of the hitch.

I got him to install a second on into the rear boot space at the same time so i can charge my second battery.

Cheers

I'm sure there's plenty of info in amongst aux battery threads here, might take a bit of searching but there have been quite a few posts relating to the current model.
On ours I installed a Piranha 140a battery isolator and this fitted neatly down beside the main battery and cables to the back went out under the carpet. The second battery in my fridge and drawer module is fed by another cable with an anderson plug connecting to a DC-Dc charger.
For info on trim removal look here...http://www.wk2jeeps.com/wk2_interior_trim.htm
If you haven't prowled around the wk2jeeps site then you have a lot to look forward to.

Not having a WK2 (sadly) I can't check, but is there any reason why you can't run the wiring tucked up out of the way underneath the car from the battery to the towbar? I did that once in a Nissan. Saved a heap of messing around - or is the battery inside the car??

WK2 battery is in a well under the driver's seat so the cables usually run inside the vehicle.
