Default Hey I'm new..

Hi. My names Tom,

I'm interested in knowing what its like to own a wrangler? say 99model or so soft top, I've got no idea.
Own a R32 skyline atm, I'm looking for a change, guess i always wanted one cause they remind me of the army ones lol.
Just wondering, in terms of reliability and fuel consumption? how is it compared to a turbo coupe.
Is it as much maintenance compared to a skyline?
Is the auto better then manual?
Can somone fill me up on more questions as i've got no idea, still thinking about it.

I want to use it as my daily and maybe take it to the sand dunes once in a awhile, so maybe basic mods like 2inch lift, bigger tyres?, exhaust? nothing too crazy, not planning on goign over rocks or in mud.

Anyone help me out, would be appreciated.

tom

wish i had gone straight from my subaru WRX to the jeep instead of long way round with another heap of a 4x4. soft top wranglers are sick and capable for just bout most situations stock...but compared to a skyline if u change one thing alot of other things need to be changed also. for example if u get a suspension lift u need to get:
- bigger and chunkier tyres (cause the wee lil ones just look stupid)
-slip yoke eliminator to reduce driveline vibes (depending on how high u lift it)\
- sway bar disconnects etc etc
i'd do the change straight away, i had almost lost my license with the WRX so it was a change for the better and fuel consumption is about the same as a modified turbo car. parts cost a lil more than a different make of 4wd but thats nothing in the long run when u show up toyotas and patrols
