So what would you able to get out of the 8 speed petrol. I would think 13-15L/100 would be about right in the real world. Reason being is that I can afford either a 5sp diesel or a new 8sp petrol...

Maybe so, I was giving it a flat to the floor standing start when I really felt it. I just didn't really remember feeling that when I did the same thing to the 5 speed diesel.

The new 8 speed petrol I drove today was averaging 17.2k/100. This in a vehicle that only had 69klms on it, wow that is scary but I assume it wouldn't be that bad as I was giving it a few big bursts...

Well I was meaning the V6 not the Hemi. I used to own a 2003 KJ Diesel and loved it. Since moving to Tasmania I do maybe 5000-10000klms a year. My current Patrol see's more time towing my cousins...
