Did you check the fuses? I know it sounds stupid- but just in case...

Hi,

maybe time to go back to fundamentals...

Check the glowplugs get hot?
Loosen an injector line and watch (no eyes or fingers anywhere near) the fuel squirt out during cranking?

Not trying to be funny, just sounds like something else may be the problem.

cheers

I checked and bled the injector lines, they're squirting out diesel.

Will check the glow plugs, fuses and wires this weekend.

Mine did the same thing just after I bought it, turned out to be fuel return lines were cracked, letting air in the fuel system and holding performance low.

When you say you checked that the egr valve wasn't stuck open did you remove it completely and check it for movement or leaks. Unless you completely remove it and check it properly you can't tell, just asking.
Double check the turbo boost hose( the one that runs under the turbo)
If your egr vavle stays shut your jeep will still run so I don't think it's that but still possibly something wrong with the spring inside.

I would be thinking maf sensor, C,A,P,Sensor, or fuel lines, last but not least glow plugs.

Alright, it starts again. It was a fuse. I checked the glowplugs and they weren't getting any voltage. The big fuses were ok, I checked those earlier, but I found one of the small fuses that was blown. It's one of the unlabeled fuses, but anyway, it starts again.

Only problem is that I still have the power problem. At 2500 rpm the car is just flat, no power at all. I'll check and clean the PCM sensor and see if that makes any difference.
Could it also be ralted to the fuel supply? I have had a lot of issues with a leak in my fuel filter / primer pump some time ago. Could a small leak or air in the lines cause this problem?

Hmmm, it also could be a defect wastegate. If it is constant open, you also will develop no boost.
No boost- no power. Check if you have boost. So you don't have to rip out the turbocharger.
( by the way a VDO boost gauge is a must have in my opinion)

And yes, fuel supply plays a major role in those problems. The tiniest leak will cause such problems.

Hey mate, how easy is it to install a boost guage and what is the easiest way to check my boost now without one?

I'll have a play with my fuel filter and primer pump as well as there might still be some air coming into the system that was cuasing the power issue.
I've had to put an O-ring under the plunger nut, so when you tighten the plunger nut back on to the fuel filter is seals tight.
For some reason when pumping the manual pump I can see air bubbles come through the plunger. Air was leaking past into the system even when the nut was on tight and therefor making it very difficult to start the car. There must be some internal O-ring that has gone missing or broke, but this extra O-ring that I've but on seams to have fixed it.
