Keep us up to date on the Viper TB, seems to be a nice upgrade for the 3.8l and most guys were recording fuel savings of 2l/100km.

Could you please post a link of where you got yours from?

Cheers

HI Guys..been testing the viper TB and found the following:
1) Although it DOES NOT increase performance, it lowers engine revs.
2) The engine breathes much better, having a 3" inlet.
3) I can get uphill without getting out and pushing the damn thing...at times if the uphill is slight even in 6th gear with very little loss in speed.
4) No trouble with error codes due to the TB.
5) Yes Task...I have noticed on highway driving fuel went down to 11.6l/100km..town driving 12.6...used to be 13.4...

And yeah, from Mopar super center.

Now...I have also changed the camshaft and crank position sensors, but the problem mentioned at the beginning of this thread still persists. Now I can an error code:
P0642 - Sensor Reference Voltage 1 Circuit Low
Fat lot of good..where the hell is circuit 1???

So the stealership not only busted my TB up, but they were wrong with the error codes pointing to the sensors.....Great!!!!

I cleaned the fuel cap, as I read in other fora (Forums)..that it could be one of the culprits....
Any Ideas good fellas???
thanks
b

Hey mate, I had similar problem with my FPV - completely different vehicles of course but the issue sounds familiar.

I ended up spending about $2500 (that I didn't have at the time), as well as sleepless nights worrying about it. Had CA sensor replaced, new PCM, new throttle body new battery etc. etc. etc.

It turns out it was bad wiring on the immobilizer, causing intermittent faults. This included allowing the engine to turn-over but not fire, and making it go into 'limp home mode' (runs on 2 cylinders instead of .

Das Colonel...thanks for the reply...yes I know how it feels...dammit...I just want to throw the bl00dy thing off a cliff!!! I use it for work as well as off-road and I need the thing, can't afford to be without the car!! lol..

I don't have an immobiliser, it's just a standard jk, Today I have replaced one of the negative earth cables, the one that goes to the chassis with a much thicker one. Car seemed OK for a while, then after leaving a client, tried to start and bloop bloop bloop..idling rough, but no power to the throttle whatsoever.
Second try and it went OK...

Hang in there mate. There's not much else you can do!

What made it even more humiliating for me was that the vehicle was initially towed to the dealer, and I made of point of saying I didn't trust them (bad dealings in the past) and would be taking it elsewhere.

Long story short the 'elsewhere' ended up completely misdiagnosing the problem and it was the dealer that fixed the problem.
