Below is the list of what has been done in the last 12 to 14 months and some more they need to do next week.
PCM (Power Control Module? replaced at least 6 times now and maybe again.
LH door window regulator.
Indicator stalk.
Rear spring locators.
Rear diff pinion oil seal.
Transmission oil leak.
Transmission Oil cooler pipe leak.
Service 4wd system light and chime on and off since the start - actually the first ever isuue. Reflashed probably reflashed at least 5 times now and need to again.
Main wiring harness on the engine bay, and have been told they want to do it again and also the other one on the other side of the engine bay. When they did the harness they did not tighten the injector pipework propoerly and had massive fule leaks in the engine bay.
Injectors replaced 1 time and then some again after they would not talk to the PCM.
02 sensors I think 3 times now and they may need to do again.
EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve replaced.
WCM (Wireless Control Module) reprogrammed twice.
Alarm system reprogrammed due to it going off when in carparks and it got hot.
All thsi time (about 12 months) the engine light had been on all the time.
Now they need to look at;
A/C unit has LED's as lights, these have blown and they have to replace the full bezel.
Front diff seems to have very noisy bearings or its on its way out so a potential new one.
When they fixed the engine light issue 5 other fault codes poped up for 02 circuit failure and also main computer system failure? Dont know the others as the starscan picked these up but not the scangauge.
Clunking from the front for which I suspect is the sway bushes on the way out and one side is completey covered in oil from another spotted leak which they will need to fix.
The stereo seems to moving inwards to the windscreen so thats another thing.
Last but not least is the swirl motor/actuator and the vaccum pump that runs this, something is going amiss here and I have massive turbo lag and very poor performance.
So not much really when you think of it but I am told by the CJ experts that its all fixable, but after 12 months I am still in a similar position.
If it was minor or specifically diesel related I would have gone to Mercedes who builds these engines for a more expert opinion.

To say you've got a strong case under the lemon laws would be an understatement.
Without going over the whole thing again, have you advised Fair Trading/Consumer Affairs ? I'd be insisting on nothing less than a brand new replacement vehicle.
As an aside, one of the things that really kills customers' faith in dealers and manufacturers is the policy of 'throwing parts at the problem'. It's generally accepted that it's cheaper and faster to keep replacing components until the problem is fixed.
I had an example of this during my time at Wagon Wheels. We had a WJ Laredo 4.0 with an intermittent stalling issue. Not very confidence-inspring when your Jeep just stops without any warning. Anyway, our guys threw new BCMs, PCMs, crank angle sensors, injectors, all sorts of stuff over a 4 month period at this car. Jeep must have spent a mint on warranty parts and labour.
We bought the car back and replaced it ( at great expense to us and Jeep ).
The problem turned out to be a faulty fuse box. $10 thanks. Should have sent it to the local sparky in the first place.
