Condo, have you refilled that tank yet and noted the litres to gauge the accuracy of the trip computer? The EVIC's suggesting a total range of 877km. If you were actually getting 6.2L/100km, the range should be much closer to 1000km.

Yeah I refilled the tank before heading back to work for 7 days but didnt take note of how many liters it took, Doh!!!! I always fill it for the missus before i leave as im afraid she will accidentally put Petrol in it LOL.

But you are correct trip computer is not very accurate. I can drive to Brisbane at the beginning of a tank 60km trip and it wont reduce by more than 10km.

I will try and remember to take note next time and do manual calculations.

Default KL limited petrol fuel economy

Bought a brand new KL Limited 3.2 litre petrol about 2 months ago...On the trip home from dealership, mainly freeway(Eastlink here in Melbourne),I was surprised to see average fuel consumption sitting between 6.8 and 7.3 litres/100km.Not bad for a brand new motor in such a heavy vehicle, which was not run in at all and only had about 40km on the odometer.

Default kl Cherokee limited petrol fuel economy

Looks like it wont be run in for a while yet as it still only has 580km on clock...I really should drive it more often as it really is so nice to drive.

Holy hell! The sticker quotes 9.3 combined for the petrol engine, but we all know how (un)achievable those numbers usually are in the real world -- irrespective of the brand. Even 'extra urban' is quoted at 7.3. Were you driving downhill all the way? Or perhaps they gave you a diesel by mistake??

Anyhoo, I too will be interested to hear how the fuel economy goes once you do a broader cross-section of driving. Particularly stop/start suburban backstreets and peak-hour conditions -- that's when my average starts to shoot up quite quickly.
