irst thing I would sugest is think about why she is getting out. It may be that she is just bored?? So if thats the case look at ways to keep her occupied.

If she has toys, then put them all away. Then bring out a few toys for her to play with for as couple of days, put them away, bring out new (different) ones for a couple of days etc etc. Cycle through them.

Take he for walks at night, play with her in the yard a bit more etc etc.

Apart from that I would suggest the electric fence. One run chest height standing off from the fence and one on the top. If she is as smart as our dogs it only take one or two zaps before she will work out not to go near it. You could also run the top wire so it stands off the fence into the yard, pretty much guarranteed they will hit it. If you look around an Electric fence unit should run you around the 140.00 mark (battery Unit but with AC Adapter), then add about another 80.00 for Earth Stake, Hot tape etc etc).

But then she may be as smart as our girl..she send her brother in first to check if the fence is working..if he does not get a zap then she has a go lol

Funny story about those... Those collars normally give a warning when they are getting close to the boundary. So the dog simply sat near the boundary with the warning going off untill it stopped (ie the batterries in the collar went flat) then wandered out

Don't put her/him down hun! There's always a way to fix things, and she/he hasn't had a full life!
If your gonna think of that, re-home the doggie

I think you should try the electric fence one.

Speak to Wayne and Deb, they have the set up Flexi is talking about.

As you know they have a fair sized chunk of land, and there dogs don't go anywhere near the boundaries because of the zap they get from the collars.

The other solution is to build a dog run. Pretty simple and you only need to put the dog in there when you're away.

If you don't think the collar would be the go you might have to leave the dog inside when you go out. That's what we did with our staffy after he decided he no longer could bare being alone. When you stop them jumping they learn to dig and then if you stop that they eat their way through Those dog enclosure look good though and alot of dogs like them as it sort of resembles a den making them feel more secure. Good luck.............you could always take the dog with you and leave it in the back of jeep.

Check out my Ride(s)

the collar system is from Innotek (http://www.innotek.com.au/)
this sytem is sutiable for anything up to 5 kilometers of fence (I have one round my 5 acre block) and the collar will only issue a warning beep when the dog gets close will not go off continiously (so no flat battery)
worth its weight in gold
