Hi Robert,
I have XH Commander and was looking for a bit of lift especially in the front which had sagged slightly, and decided to go the Kings Springs route. I bought the springs on e-bay from AHM in Melbourne for about $300.00 delivered to my place on the Gold Coast. Even though I live within walking distance of King Springs factory they were unable to do a deal even close to AHM. They did however offer to fit the coils to the struts for $20.00 each, a offer I accepted. The job took all day but somewhere on the internet there is a site showing how to do it, which was a great help. My Jeep has only done 90,000Ks so I did'nt replace the struts or shocks at this time and I do'nt do any off road, just tow a big van.

Chers Bryan.

Yes, it's affordability, but landed in Oz, a set of spacers is about the same cost as a set of springs.
I really only want a little bit of lift, will spacers do me justice?
OME Jeep springs have too much bounce. Very typical of USA suspension, they feel like your driving an old 1960's "Yank Tank" Chevy or Ford.
If you get new ARB or Murchinson springs the car will handle and courner so much better, you won't regret the decision. And yes definitely get upgraded struts.

Haha! That's exactly what I am after. A "lifted cloud".

I thought OME and ARB are the same company ? I put the standard OME 2inch lift kit in my 2010 WH with OME struts etc. As Clarky said prick of a job fitting fr springs on struts. The front springs seem very stiff on rough roads and when you hit a good bump the rebound action on the front shocks does not seem to be enough. It also seems with any lift ,other suspension component wear will show up. I did mine at 70000klms.

Ah... so by bounce you mean too stiff...there's not enough compression to absorb the bump?

Check out my Ride(s)

I have H/D King (Murchison's) in the front with OME(ARB) struts, with no extra weight the front used to skip out on corrugations but now that I have the B/Bar & winch it rides perfect (but I lost half of my lift).

My advice would be to fit no firmer then M/D front coils (stock rate if available) without a B/Bar, M/D with an alloy bar & H/D with steel.

If the shocks have more then 80,000km on them I would replace them. In fact if the budget doesn't allow both then do the shocks first.
