Default Glow Plug issues

Have had the engine light come on in n XH Commander 3.0 CRD. Mechanic says the code states a glow plug issue with the solution being to replace the plugs. Have had no problem starting and therefore can't understand the issue with Glow plugs. Has anyone had this issue and discovered the solution?

You may only have one or two glow plugs not working. this is not a big issue and your car will start fine in mild and warmer weather except when you have a very cold morning and it may take a few more cranks to start and when it does it'll run like a hairy goat for the first 15 to 30 seconds. Just give it a rev and it'll be right.
The error code/s will tell you which glow plug is stuffed. The code will be P0671 - Glow plug cylinder #1, P0672 cylinder #2 etc. Glow plugs are just as easy to change as spark plugs but they are hidden away a bit so you will have to remove a cover plate to get to some GP's. There is more info and cautions in previous threads, just do a search.

Now have the replacement plugs but not sure how to remove the electrical connection on the top of the plug. Does it just pull off or is there a trick to removing it?

Where can I find some instructions on how to remove the glow plugs? Just anticipating needing to do this down the track.
