Default '01 XJ Sport Turbo Diesel LSD. Proud first time Jeep owner!

Hi, I have always liked the Cherokee look since back in the day. Was looking at Hiluxs' and landcruisers but then this black beauty popped up in an ebay search and here i am! much better taste i say..
I'm pretty excited to get out there next weekend!

This ones done 300K Its in pretty new shape as far as looks and especially interior go, but the clutch apparently has a noise that goes away as it warms up.. any ideas?

Also looking for a snorkel but ARB and Safari only do the petrol version (the diesel has the air cleaner on the other side of the engine bay, Right hand side)
So does anyone know an alternative such as a custom company in Brisbane?

Any advice or info would me much appreciated.
Cheers!

Welcome to the Diesel lovers and congrats to your purchase!

Did you do some maintenance already?
Just do it before hitting a trail.

A good place to start are some typical items like
- belt, pulleys and belt tensioner
- thermostat, fresh coolant, viscous fan and radiator
- injectors (just get them tested)
Your clutch noise sounds like the clutch bearing, does the sound change when you press the pedal? While at it it is a good time to replace also the rear main engine seal. Wether it leaks or not.

Welcome to the diesel XJ club.
Location?
Sounds like a clutch thrust bearing.
make sure your coolant is nice & clean.
Change all fluids if not done recently.
Enjoy!!

I have often wondered if it would be possible to get a petrol snorkel & cut it on the horizontal bit, turn it 180deg & then plastic weld it back on. it may work.
