Default 6 beeps?

In the last few days my 2014 CRD Limited has, on about three occasions, unexpectedly sounded six beeps from the alarm. No warnings have shown on the dash or the EVIC. Anyone know what might cause this? I was driving from Brisbane to Melbourne at the time, so haven't yet asked a dealer.

OK, false alarm! It turns out that the ABC in Victoria still plays the six beeps starting 5 seconds before the hour, with the sixth beep on the hour. Queensland hasn't played them for ages, so I didn't realise what it was.

Makes me feel a right prat!

Wow, I'm shocked to hear that someone still listens to AM radio. Didn't realise they still had that function in modern vehicles.

Philistine!! How else can you keep up with what's going on in the world except by listening to the ABC - no irritating "music", no bigots like Alan Jones, just intelligent reports and conversation.

And I can get 612 Brisbane well into NSW - bet your FM stations don't have that sort of coverage!

Love it, what a great diagnosis and a cheap fix.
It's a great story and a big laugh that I'll be telling a few mates
