Brake shoes for a dana44

I got new pad material put on my old shoes. Cost less than ordering from the US. Didn't take long either, Brakes Plus in Sydney. Lasted 3 years and 35k and still plenty meat left.

The gap I could see when the shaft was in was just me looking at the top en of the v shape the seal makes, the pointy end was still mostly in contact with the shaft, just not tight. Enough to let hot...

Looking at getting an xj (again) for a second car which year to get?

1999 model without coil packs would be the go if I was buying again. I'd avoid the 2000 models with coilpacks too, just seem problematic, although I never see posts about probs with them...

The factory XJ D44 has a different bolt pattern from a TJ D44. I emailed someone in the states about this when I was considering a disc brake conversion too. Also means the WJ discs don't fit either....

Steel (braided) brake line upgrade?

The braided lines on mine have a plastic covering over them that is fairly thick. Presumably to stop fraying but also keeps water out too. My brakes feel great... Haven't compared to a stocker...
